India becomes the major country for visa holders in the UK

The UK High Commission in Delhi announced on Thursday that India has surpassed China as the country to which sponsored study visas are issued the most frequently in the UK. According to Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, Indian nationals received the greatest number of study, work, and visitor visas from the UK in the year that ended in June 2022. The following article, provided to you by Visa Solutions 4U, one of the leading UK visa consultants in Delhi, India, contains all the information you need.

According to a staggering 273 percent increase in visas issued over the previous several years, Indian students have for the first time surpassed the Chinese as the largest group of international students studying in the UK, according to official immigration statistics released.

Indians continue to be the most common nationality given visas to skilled workers according to the UK Home Office data compiled by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), with 56,042 work visas granted in the previous year. The specialized Skilled Worker Health and Care visa, which is aimed at medical professionals, also gave Indian citizens the greatest percentage of visas, with 36% of the total, highlighting their commitment to the government-funded National Health Service (NHS).

The number of [study visa] approvals to primary applicants who were Indian citizens reached 127,731 in the financial year that ended in September 2022, up 93,470 (273%) from the previous year's total of 34,261, according to the Home Office.

In the fiscal year that ended in September 2022, Chinese citizens received 116,476 sponsored study visas, ranking second only to Americans (119,231) in terms of the number of visas issued to primary applicants.

According to the aggregate ONS data, net migration to the UK increased after Brexit, going from 173,000 in the year ending in June 2021 to 504,000 in the following year. This represents a 331,000 increase.

Indians accounted for 41% of all visas issued under the new Graduate Route visa, which was established in July of last year and allows international students to continue working after receiving their degree.

Even though no Indian university was included in the approved list of top international universities, the special High Potential Individual (HPI) visa, which was introduced in May this year to entice the brightest graduates from the world's top universities to work in the UK, saw a 14 percent grant to Indian nationals.

According to statistics, the number of study visas granted to nationals of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, and India has increased by more than three times since 2019. This increase is thought to be a significant contributor to the UK's record-breaking increase in immigration over the past year.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict, the resettlement of Afghans, the removal of lockdown restrictions, the first full period of statistics following the transition since Brexit, the end of lockdown restrictions, a new visa route for Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas), and the Russia-Ukraine conflict are all cited as factors in the "record levels of long-term immigration."

International migration trends have been altered by a number of global events in the year leading up to June 2022. These were unparalleled when combined, Jay Lindop, the ONS's director of the Center for International Migration, remarked.

This increase is being caused by migration from non-EU countries, particularly students. After the travel restrictions were lifted in 2021, more students who had been studying remotely during the coronavirus pandemic arrived in the UK, She spoke.

The number of persons migrating, however, has also significantly increased for a variety of other reasons. This includes individuals visiting for family and/or humanitarian reasons, such as those arriving from Ukraine, she added.

It is still too early to judge if this image will hold true because of the numerous, unrelated factors that are currently influencing migration, continued Lindop.

The data will be of concern to the Conservative Party-led administration, which has a manifesto commitment to reduce migration "overall," a goal reaffirmed in recent weeks and months by UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

Indian citizens continue to be the leading nationality granted skilled worker visas, accounting for 46% of all skilled work visas granted internationally. They also made up the greatest percentage (28%) of visiting visas granted by the nation.

In the year ending June 2022, approximately 118,000 Indian students acquired a student visa, an increase of 89% from the previous year, according to the most recent UK Immigration Statistics, which were released on Thursday (August 25). According to a statement from the UK HC, India has now surpassed China as the nation receiving the most sponsored study visas in the country.

India was cited as first once more by the British High Commissioner, Alex Ellis. He said I'm happy to report that in the fiscal year ending in June 2022, Indian people received the greatest number of visas for study, employment, and travel to the UK. The special living bridge that unites our people will continue to be strong. As evidenced by this, the demand for visas is at an all-time high. I advise students who will soon begin classes to submit their applications as soon as they can.

Indian nationals made up the largest share (28%) of visitor visas issued by the UK, which is still a favorite vacation spot for travelers from the subcontinent. The number of Indian nationals granted visit visas increased by 630% from the prior year to more than 258,000, in the fiscal year that ended in June 2022. (while the travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic were still applicable throughout the country).

With 56,042 visas issued, Indian citizens continue to be the most common nationality to receive "Worker" visas, making up 39% of the total. A rise of 26,490 (90%) from 2019 (29,552), according to the British High Commission.

Earlier in October, Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, stated that they were on track to resume processing applications for visas from India to the UK "within our norm of 15 days."

According to a tweet from Ellis, We are on pace to return to processing India to Great Britain #visa applications within our norm of 15 days.

Additionally, Indians acquired nearly 103,000 work visas (which includes skilled and seasonal workers) in the year ending in June 2022, a 148 percent rise from the year before.

India continues to be the country from which the majority of skilled worker visas are issued, receiving 46% of all such visas worldwide.

Lowest CRS of 2022 in latest Express Entry draw

4,750 applicants with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 491 received invites from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), on November 23, Express Entry draw. Visa Solutions 4U, being one of the best Canada PR consultants in Delhi, India, brings you the complete and detailed information about the draw and further updates of Canada Immigration and Express Entry System.

Read On.

Canada's most recent all-program Express Entry draw was held on November 23. Since the start of express entry all-program draws from July 6, this is the ninth draw after hiatus. 4,750 profiles were invited to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry Draw (PR). Invitations were sent to applicants with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 491 or higher.

Comparing the CRS cut-off score to the Express Entry draw on November 9, 2022, just 3 points have been dropped. Additionally, a number of invitations were carried over from the last draw. This year's Express Entry draw is the eleventh overall.

All program Express Entry drawings include all Express Entry profiles under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST). It also takes into account profiles that fall under any of the aforementioned categories and have received a provincial nomination.

According to the CRS score distribution of applicants in the Express Entry pool, the cut-off for the upcoming Express Entry lottery is anticipated to be approximately 485.

Express Entry drawings for all programs were suspended for more than 18 months in December 2020. Due to COVID-19, there were many travel restrictions that were implied in the 2020 pandemic era, so the express entry all program draws were put on hold. Only those people from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply (ITAs) at this time. However, the IRCC also stopped doing lotteries for the CEC in September 2021.

Processing time for Express Entry for the month of November, 2022

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) (through Express Entry) - 14 months

Canadian Experience Class - 19 months

Federal Skilled Worker Program - 27 months

Federal Skilled Trades Program - 49 months

Express Entry Upcoming Changes in 2023

In 2023, Express Entry is likely to change. Candidates can anticipate that Express Entry draws will continue into late 2022 and early 2023, and that CRS scores will be the primary determining factor in issuing ITAs.

But starting in 2023, the IRCC will have the ability to conduct targeted drawings thanks to the newly passed Bill C-19. Depending on Canada's most immediate economic need, the requirements for receiving an ITA may change between draws.

An individual might be granted an ITA, for instance, depending on their line of work, level of education, or language proficiency. According to Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, these focused draws would better position new permanent residents on a path to success while also ensuring that critical workforce shortfalls in Canada are met.

NOC Updates

On November 16, IRCC announced NOC 2021, an update to NOC 2016, the National Occupation Classification (NOC) system that is used to identify the occupation and level of expertise of an Express Entry candidate.

Based on the training, education, experience, and responsibility (TEER) required, the new method classifies vocations. The NOC 2016 skill levels 0-E have been revised by the new TEER system, which also produced the equivalent of five TEERS.

NOC 2016NOC 2021
Skill Type 0TEER 0
Skill Type ATEER 1
Skill Type BTEER 2
Skill Type BTEER 3
Skill Type CTEER 4
Skill Type DTEER 5

16 new occupations have been eligible for Express Entry as a result of the implementation of the TEER system, while three occupations have lost their eligibility. The prohibited professions might nevertheless be acceptable under different legal routes for economic immigration, like provincial nominee schemes.

Target industries for the new jobs include tech, healthcare, and truck driving, all of which are already suffering from a lack of trained labour in Canada.

Following are the occupations that become eligible under TEER system in Express Entry

Aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors

Bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators

By-law enforcement and other regulatory officers

Correctional service officers

Dental assistants and dental laboratory assistants

Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants

Estheticians, electrologists, and related occupations

Heavy equipment operators

Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

Other repairers and servicers

Payroll administrators

Pest controllers and fumigators

Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants

Residential and commercial installers and servicers

Sheriffs and bailiffs

Transport truck drivers

The next Express Entry Draw date prediction

The Canadian government conducts an Express Entry draw around every 15 days. On the basis of the draw schedules for the previous five years and the most recent draw dates, we can predict that the next draw will occur on or around December 8, 2022.

What is the express entry system?

The 2015 Express Entry system was created with the goal of streamlining and enhancing the Canadian immigration procedure. It has been quite effective in drastically cutting down processing time. The Federal Skilled Worker Program, Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class are Canada's three Federal Economic Immigration programmes. The Express Entry system administers the pool of candidates for these programmes rather than being an immigration programme in and of itself.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a point system based on factors like age, education, and work experience, assigns applicants a ranking based on their overall performance. Every two weeks, there are Express Entry drawings when candidates are placed against one another and offered to permanently settle in Canada based on their CRS score.

The Process of Express Entry

Using the Canada Express Entry Program, families and individuals can immigrate to Canada from all over the world in a matter of months. Express Entry, which was first introduced in 2015, has been one of the greatest immigration systems in the world and a major force behind skilled worker immigration to Canada. In the upcoming years, there will be a massive increase in new permanent residents under the Canada Immigration Express Entry Program 2019–2021.

Guidelines for getting ready for the study visa interview

To the best of your ability, prepare thoroughly for the interview. This can help you come across as a self-assured and sincere student who is simply travelling to Canada for academic purposes. What you should do in advance of the interview is as follows:

Work on your English - Improving your English language abilities is one of the key strategies for acing the interview. During the interview, a visa officer will evaluate your language abilities. Therefore, be sure to practise increasing your fluency.

Research - Research is important so that you can respond to any inquiries about the city, your place of higher learning, and your programme. Spend some time learning about Canadian culture in general and how classrooms operate.

Financial Plans - It's crucial that you review your financial goals, spending plan, and budget. Any questions about this should be able to be addressed by you. The police might inquire about the financial situation of your family. You should also be aware of any financial loans that you or your family members may have taken.

Practice - It's true what they say: "Practice makes perfect." So, before the interview, be sure to practise sufficiently. Answering a few simple questions in front of a mirror could be helpful. Advice for the interview for a study visa

Dress up formal - Make sure you put up a front by dressing formally. You will look tidy and professional as a result. Additionally, it will create a positive initial impression.

Punctuality - Being on time is one of the most important things to do. It will look bad if you are late for the interview. Additionally, interviewers are time-constrained, so arriving late can cause you to rush the process.

Body language - You ought to enter with assurance. Give the officer a friendly greeting. Additionally, pay close attention to every question the visa officer poses. Give a precise, succinct response. This all makes a good first impression.

Honesty - Last but not least, remember to be sincere throughout the interview. Simply put, the interviewer is trying to determine if you have a sincere interest in studying abroad. Therefore, lying is not necessary. Additionally, cops are typically skilled enough to determine whether you are lying.
